Information you share with us
Newsletter. When you subscribe, we collect your email address, the page you subscribed from and the date and time of your sign-up. We use this information only to send the Mackin Digital newsletter and to manage your subscription. Sign-ups are stored in an automation system we operate, and we receive an instant notification of each new subscriber through a messaging service (Telegram), which includes your email address.
Email. When you write to hello@mackin.digital, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.
We do not ask for sensitive information. Please don’t include it in messages unless it is necessary for your request.
Website operation & security
Mackin Digital is a static website hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, which also protects it against abuse. To serve pages and keep the site secure, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP address, requested URL, date and time, and browser and device details. This data is used to operate the site, diagnose problems and prevent attacks.
Fonts and images are served from our own domain, so reading an article does not send requests to third-party font or image services. The site does not use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking.
Cookies & local storage
Mackin Digital does not set advertising or analytics cookies. If you choose a light or dark theme, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies to tell real visitors apart from automated traffic. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings at any time.
External links & content
Articles link to other websites for sources and context. Those sites are run by third parties with their own privacy practices, which we don’t control. If an article embeds third-party content, such as a video, the provider may receive technical information when that content loads. Please review their privacy notices before interacting with them.
How we use & share information
We use information to deliver and secure the website, send the newsletter you asked for, reply to messages and understand how to improve the site. Where privacy laws require a legal basis, we rely on your consent (newsletter), on taking steps you request (replying to messages) and on our legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only with service providers that help us operate, such as hosting and security, email delivery, automation and notification tools, and only as needed for those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the site, our readers or others from abuse.
Retention
We keep newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe, then remove it from our list within a reasonable period. Correspondence is kept for as long as it is useful to handle your request and any follow-up. Technical logs held by our service providers are retained according to their own policies. Backups and legal obligations can affect how quickly information can be fully removed.
Your rights & choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link included in each newsletter email or by writing to us. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
To make a request, email hello@mackin.digital with enough detail to identify the information involved. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. You can also contact your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
Mackin Digital is written for professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International processing & security
Mackin Digital is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process information in other countries where privacy laws differ from those where you live. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Updates to this policy
We will update this policy when our services or data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest revision. If changes are significant, we will make them clear on this page.
